Bart de Visser is a color photographer, who enjoys taking pictures for a hobby. "When I'm visiting an abandoned location, I take pictures for several reasons: 1.) To take pictures, 2.) For the thrill of entering a forbidden, and in most cases a very dangerous location. For instance, one picture was taken on the second floor of Castle Noisy, you can see right to the cellar from where I took that picture. 3) At the moment I walk through an abandoned area, I wonder about the people who lived or worked there. Many feet have walked over steel stairs, children played around and in some buildings like hospitals, people are born or died there. It's strange to enter such a building after many years of abandonment. Besides the risk of falling through a ceiling, there is also a risk to walk into junkies or thieves (they mainly steal steel and copper). Also, some buildings are illegally used for growing weed or to get rid of the chemical waste of the weed-growing. Police and guards mostly are kind, and biggest risk is a ticket (between $60 and $120), but I've never received one."
